St. Olav's Hospital in Norway - new build

St. Olav's Hospital is the first hospital in Norway to completely integrate patient treatment, research and teaching. COWI acts as consultant on the ambitious project, which is expected to be completed by 2015.

The objective to integrate patient treatment, research and teaching has made the project particularly demanding. The solution therefore seeks to plan and design every individual building as an organizational unit including wards, day treatment and operating units with adjoining functions.

A sustainable solution

COWI’s solution anticipates rapid and unpredictable development in diagnostics, treatment, research and medical technology and therefore facilitates a continuous reorganization of the operation of the hospital and includes sketch designs for possible future extensions.
