We apply numerical modelling of hydrographical conditions as a basis for design and to determine maintenance requirements.

We use navigation studies and real-time manoeuvring simulations when we design approach channels and turning basins.

Plume modelling is undertaken as part of environmental impact assessments.

Dredging of existing ports

Many existing ports require upgrading due to the trend towards increasing vessel size.

COWI analyses existing structures and designs appropriate strengthening works, such as toe walls and additional ground anchors to enable the deepening of berths.
