Design of hydraulic structures

COWI has extensive experience in planning and design of a broad range of hydraulic structures, such as cooling water intakes and outfalls.

In addition to assessing hydraulic performance of the structures our in-house expertise of recirculation studies enables us to determine optimum locations and environmental considerations.

Statistical analysis 

We provide risk analyses and statistical analyses of hydraulic data and definition of extreme wind, wave and water level combinations.

Wave and current loads

COWI performs calculation of waves’ and current forces’ impact on structures as a stand alone service.

This is an integral part of our design of jetties, bridges, immersed tunnels and offshore wind turbine foundations.

We apply a combination of theory, physical model tests and numerical calculations.

From concept to completion

COWI provides comprehensive hydraulic analyses from concept to completion. This includes assessment of hydraulic loads during the construction process.
