Borehole logging
COWI conducts comprehensive hydrogeological and exploration surveys using state-of-the-art logging probes produced by Geovista.
Borehole logging provides continuous information with depth of physical properties that are vital for most environmental and water resources investigations.
In COWI we tailor our logging services to our clients' needs due to the stackable capability of the probes. This way we can conduct a wide combination of measurements on the same log run.
The equipment is installed on a 4WD all-terrain vehicle for easier access to borehole locations.
We employ the following advanced probing equipment in our logging operations:
Fluid conductivity and temperature
Impeller and heat-pulse flowmeter
Full waveform sonic
Natural gamma
Vertical seismic profiling
Focused resistivity
EM dual induction
Porosity
Density
Caliper
Video inspection
Taking advantage of areas with existing boreholes our wide range of logging capabilities are used in the following applications:
Soil characterization
Determining hydraulic properties
Identifying geologic structures
Stratigraphic correlation
