Orthophotos
Nationwide orthophotos from COWI with a pixel size of 20 x 20 cm make it possible to see and identify objects smaller than one metre.
By means of orthophotos, you can see objects and get information that are normally not visible on digital vector maps.
COWI’s nationwide orthophotos, with a pixel size of 20 x 20 cm, allow you to see and recognise objects smaller than one metre.
Four sets of orthophotos
Since 1962, COWI has overflown Denmark and nationwide aerial photography has been carried out as from 1995. COWI now possesses nationwide digital orthophotos from 1995, 1999, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008.
As opposed to a technical or topographic map, the orthophoto is an uninterpreted map product. As interpretation is left to the user, this makes the orthophoto a good supplement to other digital maps.
