Legal advice

Legal advice becomes a more and more central feature in delivering true cross-disciplinary integrated advice to clients. COWI provides legal advice as a stand-alone as well as an integrated service to clients.
COWI's legal services cover public law (administrative law and/or constitutional law), welfare law (privatisation, public procurement and PPP as well as municipal law), private law (contracts, corporate law and competition law). We have accumulated vast experience in the fields of environment, water, energy, transport, procurement, harmonisation, approximation of law as well as administrative law.

Typical assignments

A number of recent assignments have centred on carrying out gap analyses between national legislation and EU legislation. However, we also provide legal advice in the following fields:

  • EU approximation of national legislation in Central and Eastern Europe
  • Evaluation of legal compliance
  • Development of regulatory regimes in Denmark, Eastern Europe and the Balkans
  • Advice on procurement processes and legislations
  • Analysis and evaluation of various legal solutions reforming public utilities
  • Legal pre-conditions and implications of organisational reforms/changes
  • Legal advice to enterprises on conflict management, investment requirements and cost analyses.
We deliver our advice in close co-operation with other COWI services in cross-disciplinary projects around the world.
