Sustainable development
Public authorities and private enterprises are increasingly developing strategies for sustainable development and implementing them with the aid of concrete methods and tools.
Popular and governmental demand for sustainable development is growing all over the world. Many public authorities and private companies are starting to incorporate environmental, social and economic elements into their decision-making process as a way of achieving sustainable development.
Sustainable services
The projects carried out by COWI span all aspects of sustainable development. We develop overall strategies for public authorities and evaluate the actual consequences of new proposals/recommendations (RIA). We provide advice on new and innovative forms of cooperation. In this way we increase multilateral cooperation among public authorities and within the public administration system.
We also develop indicators which show whether or not the development in question is sustainable.
Multidisciplinary approach
The task of ensuring sustainable development is, by its very nature, a challenge. Therefore our consultancy services are based on multidisciplinary solutions and make use of all competencies within COWI. Projects involving sustainable development are carried out by teams of consultants with expertise within social economy, environmental planning and organisation, and management.
