COWI provides consultancy on risk analysis and risk based design of bridges. We ensure that bridge safety is handled in a comprehensive and systematic manner throughout all project phases.

Risk policy and acceptance

COWI offers to assist in setting up safety goals and establish consistent risk acceptance criteria for construction and operation of bridges in compliance with international standards and traditions.

Risk screening

The design basis is established based on risk screenings that provide a systematic identification of hazards and an experience-based assessment of the frequency and consequences of the unwanted events.

Detailed risk analysis

Our services may comprise special studies of structural reliability including detailed analyses of risks and effects of ship collision, spills of hazardous materials, wind, flooding, waves and current and material deterioration under various environmental influences.
