COWI is an experienced consultant in overall construction risk assessment, which includes the identification and analysis of construction risks in large international infrastructural projects. Focus is on occurrences which may cause critical path delays and additional construction costs (budget overruns) for the contractor and owner. But also risks to the safety of workers or third party persons, risks to the environment or to the general project opinion can be assessed.
Risk contributions are identified quantified and combined using simulations. Likelihood and consequences of individual events are systematically assessed in brainstorming sessions with the relevant project professionals and specialist advisors.
Possible risk mitigation actions and alternative method statements are identified on the basis of the risk identification and risk assessment carried out. Relevant project partners are fully involved in the identification, decision-making and implementation of risk mitigation actions according to the project specific requirements.
