When planning changes in the road network or construction of new roads it is important to be able to validate the consequences in advance.
COWI calculates traffic effects as well as the economic and environmental effects of infrastructure projects. We assess the effects of relocating workplaces and housing, traffic congestion and separate environmental effects. And we set up models for traffic flow simulation where - in a controlled environment - we can verify whether vehicle flow is optimal.
We use several computer-based transport models, including VISUM, VISSIM, TRIPS and EMME/2, which comprise models for both individual and public transport. The models include a graphic interface, allowing us to present input and results in a user-friendly manner.
