The world’s leading metro constructors meet in Copenhagen.

The Copenhagen Metro is popular. More than one million Danes have already tried the driverless trains.
Approximately 400 metro constructors from Denmark and 25 other countries will meet to hear about the first metro in Denmark.

The event takes place at the Royal Library's "Black Diamond" in Copenhagen, where COWI and the other partners involved with the Metro have organised a two-day know-how seminar for owners, entrepreneurs and operators from all over the world.

Since 1994, COWI has been main consultant for the Orestadsselskabet with project and construction management.

"The seminar is a unique occasion which we will use to show that the metro has been finalised and to share our knowledge. The unusual thing about the metro is its complexity. Apart from construction of tunnels, stations and shafts, the metro has driverless trains, a new railway system and establishment of a new operator organization.

"With the metro project we have achieved considerable expertise, which can be useful to others who are going to construct a new metro or develop an existing one," says Torsten Mølgaard, Department Manager in COWI.

The seminar will be inaugurated by the Chief Mayor Jens Kramer Mikkelsen. There will be speeches about the severe environmental requirements, experiences with the driverless trains, architectural visions, and the new possible metro section  - the City Ring.

Finally, the participants will visit the operation centre at Amager and have a tour of the new metro.

The seminar takes place Thursday 21 November – Friday 22 November in the Black Diamond.

The seminar is financed by the COWI Foundation, Ansaldo and Comet.

The seminar will be open to the press.
