Utterslev School is awarded a diploma

Utterslev School in Denmark has received a diploma from the private institution "Institution for the Beautification of the Capital".
COWI won a design competition in 2000 together with the architects KHR AS for the first new school to be built in Copenhagen in 25 years. The project comprises eight new school buildings with a canal as one of the main unifying features.

The project has now been awarded a diploma from the private institution "Institution for the Beautification of the Capital".

The School is Utterslev School which is located on Skoleholdervej near Utterslev Torv in Copenhagen. It is a two-form entry school with 500 pupils. The client was the Municipality of Copenhagen.

COWI has been responsible for the detailed design tendering and supervision of structural works and services. The consultants also had the responsibility for the tendering and supervision of demolition of existing buildings and supervision with removal of contaminated soil from the site.
