COWI acquires Latvian water systems consultant 

Acquisition an important step in developing strong multidisciplinary company in Latvia, says Vice President Mogens Heering.

COWI has acquired SIA Udens Inzenieri, a Latvian consultant offering a broad range of water supply system development consultancy services. The acquisition will take effect from February 2007.

Udens Inzenieri specializes in drinking water treatment technology and water and sewage system network modeling. It  has more than eight years experience of the Latvian market.


Important step

"The acquisition of Udens Inzenieri is an important step for COWI in our development of a strong multidisciplinary company in Latvia," says Mogens Heering, COWI Vice President and chairman of the board of directors of COWI Latvia - COWI's existing company in Latvia.
 
"By joining COWI, Udens Inzenieri will sustain growth and broaden our service scope", says Janis Brutgans, Managing Director of Udens Inzenieri. "Adding COWI's resources, knowledge and international market reputation will ensure our position on the future Latvian water consultancy market".

New water division

Udens Inzenieri staff and management will form the basis for a new water division in COWI Latvia.

Following the acquisition, COWI Latvia now has a staff of ten, headed by Uldis Kaknens, responsible for general management, and Janis Brutgans, water division manager and technical director.
