New mapping company in the COWI Group 

COWI acquires The Mapping Place Ltd., a British survey and mapping company.

With the acquisition of The Mapping Place Ltd. (TMP), COWI is ensured a strengthened local position in the aerial surveying, mapping and digital map products market in Great Britain.

International business

TMP will supplement COWI's international mapping business and contribute to realisation of COWI's new Strategy 2010, which emphasises strengthened local presence in selected markets.

Complex projects

The British mapping company undertakes complex international mapping tasks to strict timetables, and is located in Gloucestershire. TMP will support COWI's strategic focus on the mapping market in Great Britain.

Closer relations

"With the acquisition of TMP, COWI will now be focusing on developing closer relations with our customers by having a local presence in Great Britain. Furthermore, TMP will strengthen our core competencies within mapping," says Vice President, Rasmus Ødum, COWI Geographical Information and IT.
 
COWI has appointed Mike McKay as Managing Director.
