Services within the health care sector

COWI is an international leader when it comes to total consultancy for the health care sector.
COWI is providing consultancy services on some of Europe's largest and most modern hospital buildings. These services include concept development, multi-functionality and logistics. Before, during and after the building is completed we serve as the customer's "one-stop-shop".

A world of experience

Through experience gained in our departments located all over the globe we have become advisers to local health care services, helping them with everything from patient needs to the optimisation of treatment procedures, medico technology, IT solutions, quality accreditation and safety. Our consultancy services also extend to finances, energy and the environment, building technology, operations and maintenance.

Tailor-made solutions

COWI is leading the field in the health care sector, both in Denmark and abroad. We create a modern framework for patient care, in which both patients and their relatives can thrive. We also provide the best possible working environment for personnel – as well as ensuring that financial resources are utilised to the utmost.

Medico Technology Evaluation

Our considerable expertise and experience in the field of Medico Technology Evaluation (MTE) allows us to offer decision-support services to hospitals whenever they are selecting new technology or treatment methods. COWI analyses the use of medicine, equipment and medical and surgical procedures for the purposes of prevention, examination, treatment, care and rehabilitation, both inside and outside the health care service.

Socio-economic analyses

At a socio-economic level we calculate the health-economic costs of noise emissions and for example the use of certain chemicals. We also analyse, evaluate and manage various initiatives designed to promote health and prevent illness.

Public-private partnerships

COWI offers advice on public-private partnerships (PPP) - not only at a strategic level but also practically. We review different PPP solutions to find the best ones, and provide relevant tools such as financial models or recommendations for political decision making.

Health economics

We perform financial analyses and evaluations; analyse working routines; conduct satisfaction surveys (for both staff and patients), and help with quality accreditation and organisational development.

Operational analyses

We evaluate how to optimise various forms of outpatient treatment; home help teams in the community and other types of work conducted prior to hospitalisation. We also help to unravel more complex areas such as logistics, quality control and finances.

Proportional effects

We possess in-depth knowledge of the relationships between capacity, volume and the quality of the treatment being offered. We also establish whether certain tasks and functions (both within the individual hospital and across several different hospitals) are suitable for distribution; then we evaluate the proportional effects of such a move.
