COWI enters agreement with another major company to its customer group in HSE consultancy.

Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) has outsourced its health, safety and environment (HSE) service and has entered into a framework agreement with COWI on HSE consultancy.

For years, SAS Danmark’s own HSE consultants provided consultancy to the company. During the outsourcing of the HSE service, SAS entered into a framework agreement with COWI, who is to advise SAS Danmark on HSE for the next 18 months, so far. The agreement also covers SAS Ground Handling and SAS Cargo Group.

“As part of SAS’ strategy to create a flexible cost structure, we chose COWI as HSE supplier. In SAS, we are excited about the agreement with COWI and look forward to a long, successful cooperation,” says Anki Torisson, Managing Director of SAS BHT.

Focus on high quality and efficiency

COWI was chosen as consultant after a thorough search of the HSE consultancy market, where SAS prioritised finding a consultant who could match the high level of quality and efficiency that the company had previously found in-house, and who could cover a wide range of HSE aspects.

COWI’s services include consultancy, measuring and training regarding noise, acoustics, indoor climate, ergonomics, chemistry, thermal conditions, lighting, radiation, psychosocial working environment, workplace assessment, health promotion, health checks and personal counselling sessions with a psychologist.

The SAS agreement means that COWI adds yet another major company to its customer group in HSE consultancy.

”We’re especially thrilled about this agreement because it contributes to branding us as the preferred consultant of major Danish companies with international activities,” says Torben Bruun Hansen, Vice President of COWI’s Department of Occupational Health and Safety, Noise and Acoustics.

Stronger HSE consultancy team

Signing the framework agreement, COWI also further strengthened the field of HSE consultancy, as three former SAS HSE consultants joined COWI’s HSE group.

”Not only did we add talented new resources to our team of consultants. The agreement with SAS also means that we will gain even more experience in advising companies that operate in air transport and related transport areas,” says Bruun Hansen.
