Online performance evaluation in Danish schools

A unique, new web portal will help teachers in Danish schools evaluate their pupils' performance.
The Danish Ministry of Education has chosen COWI to project manage the development of a new web portal. The aim of the portal is to make it easier for teachers to assess pupil performance in all subjects and carry out required tests for selected age groups.

The new portal will continue the Danish government's promotion of performance evaluation in primary and lower secondary schools. Teachers will have access to a suite of evaluation tools, inspirational materials and other information.

Long-term sustainability

So far as Project Manager Vilhelm Halgreen is aware, this kind of portal has not been developed anywhere else in the world, and his project partners include communication experts from Norway, as well as over 50 teachers from all over Denmark.
Project partners are involved in both the design and use of the portal, and Halgreen believes the rich, geographic mix of the team "will add to the long-term sustainability of the project."

Development of the portal is already underway and it is expected to go live in the spring of 2007.
