COWI now ranks no 1 among bridge-design consultants in terms of international revenue on the prestigious ENR Yearly Sourcebook listing more than 250 International Design Firms. The COWI Marine unit achieves no 4 in Marine and Port Facilities.

"A major achievement and recognition for the numerous bridges designed by COWI's skilled engineers," says Anton Pedersen, Regional Vice President for COWI's Bridge, Tunnel and Marine unit.

Climbing the list

The no 1 ranking in Engineering News Record (ENR) Sourcebook proves that COWI is globally recognized for the state-of-the-art bridge design and engineering. The COWI Bridge Unit has steadily moved from a no 3 position in 2011, and no 2 in 2012 to the first place in 2014.

The ENR Sourcebook is an annual publication that ranks international contractor and design firms in a variety of categories. More than 250 companies from all over the world participate in the ranking, which is based on international revenue.

"I am happy to see how the joint efforts from our dedicated bridge engineers in our subsidiaries Buckland & Taylor, Flint & Neill and from COWI offices around the world result in this prominent position. It reflects our ability to work together across the globe and act as one international high end bridge engineering company," says Pedersen.

Prominent rankings for more COWI units

The Bridge Unit is not the only part of COWI with a top ranking. The Marine Unit enters the list on a 4th place position in the category Marine and Port Facilities and in the Solid Waste category COWI achieves a no 3 to name but a few.

Overall COWI is no 30 on the Top 225 International Design Firms list ranked by revenue, which is 5 steps up from last year's position as no 35.
