​​The Arab Petroleum Pipelines Co (SUMED) owns and operates pipe lines to allow the transportation of Crude oil from Gulf of Suez to the Mediterranean sea, running between two main terminals.

SUMED intend to develop the terminal at Ain Sukhna, 55 kilometers south of Suez. The terminal should be able to operate with refined products and feed stocks and include the services of storage, loading, unloading and transportation of selected products according to conducted market.


The new Terminal shall include tank farm, jetty, SPM, pumping station, control room, substations, gas and fire detection, security, safety and surveillance systems, fire-fighting and all other auxiliaries.

THE PRODUCT TERMINAL SHALL BE ABLE TO:

  • Receive products from tankers via jetty
  • Receive Fuel oil from tankers via SPM (Single Point Mooring) and Jetty
  • Store products in new product tanks
  • Loading products to tankers via jetty
  • Loading Fuel oil to tankers via Single Point Mooring
  • Provide bunkering services by means of barges
  • Transport/receive refined products to other terminals via 42” pipeline
  • Blend products to tank and directly to tankers
  • Loading/unloading LPG to/from tankers via Jetty
  • Storing LPG
  • Transport LPG to other terminals via pipeline


COWI SCOPE OF WORK

Execute a Conceptual Design for the entire project with different alternatives. Execute a complete FEED for the first project stage that includes

  • Tank farm for Naphta, Gas oil, Swing white, Fuel oil, Cutter stock and Marine diesel
  • Jetty, basic and expansion up to 160 KDWT
  • LPG unloading, storing and loading
  • SPM up to 320 KDWT
  • Suez bidirectional pipeline
  • Cost estimate with accuracy of -/+ 15%

ITB (Invitation to Bid) for EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) basis of the first stage of the project up to pre commissioning, commissioning and start up
