Copenhagen Airports (CPH) - facility management analysis

Working closely with the staff at CPH COWI analysed how to improve service and quality in facility management at the airport. CPH's goal is to remain Europe's most efficient airport.

The analysis is aimed at improving infrastructure for the airport's 850 people working with facility management - all of which are organised in the unit called CPH Properties.

The analysis is interdisciplinary and based on a high degree of staff involvement. The idea is to examine the planning of operation and maintenance and come up with suggestions for improving service and quality, increasing flexibility and reducing costs.

CPH must show the way

In the long run the analysis will help CPH in the effort to remain Europe's best and most efficient airport - also with a considerable increase in the number of passengers.

COWI was responsible for the overall project management within the framework of the so called "CPH-model". COWI further acted as process consultant and provided technical and management coaching on a number of workshops.

Staff involvement at all levels

Staff involvement was the key to the success of the project. Electricians, bus drivers, baggage handlers and managers - everyone has been involved. The results of the analysis have continuously been published on CPH's intranet and on staff meetings.
