Extension of forestry project (RPTES)
COWI worked on sustainable exploitation of forestry resources through capacity building.
The project was aimed at strengthening the rural population's capacities to manage a sustainable exploitation of forestry resources. It also aimed to consolidate a new framework for management of autonomous forestry. Outputs included improvement and valuation of forestry production and marketing channels. Special attention was given to improving a sustainable supply of wood and achieving a progressive increase in revenues.
Capacity building
COWI's international experts worked as facilitators, collaborating closely with the local organizations such as the Forestry Management Groups, Forestry Management Groups' Union including their technical teams. Advice and training were provided allowing those organizations to have a better understanding of their role and responsibility in the process of making the forestry management autonomous.
