Innovative seismic solutions
The land streamer is equipped with 120 geophones separated every one meter the first 50 metres behind the minibuggy and every two metres the remaining 150 metres. The denser-spaced geophones are 3-components geophones which can record both P- and S-wave seismic. The coarser-spaced geophones are 1-component geophones which only record P-wave seismic.
The denser-geophone spacing, together with the ability to record S-wave data, produces very high quality data in the shallowest portion of the near-surface. The 200 metre offset provides high-resolution data down to depths of more than one kilometre.
