Feasibility studies and appraisals

COWI carries out feasibility studies throughout the world - mainly of infrastructure projects financed by national and local governments, private companies, international financial institutions and donors.

COWI assists investors, whether public or private, by developing a solid basis for making decisions on investments.

Assessing financial viability
When an investor is considering a project, COWI carries out feasibility studies, appraisals and financial due diligence of the project. We also analyse what will make state-owned enterprises (SOEs) financially viable.

Often, affordability, willingness-to-pay and creditworthiness analyses, together with legal and institutional analyses, constitute an integrated part of COWI's services.

Global analyses in most sectors
Among our major customers are national and local governments in the European Union, South-East Europe, Eastern Europe, Caucasus, Asia and Africa, private companies in the European Union and the EBRD, EIB, European Commission and World Bank, as well as a number of bilateral donors, including DANIDA, NORAD and SIDA.

COWI carries out feasibility studies and appraisals within most sectors, including the environment, energy, transport, urban development, culture and welfare sectors. Within the environment sector our focus is on water and waste.
