Quality assurance - accreditation

COWI has a profound insight into the challenges which the Danish health care quality assessment programme brings in the health sector. We closely monitor the development of new policies and standards.

Therefore we are, at all levels, able to make analyses, formulate strategies, design documentation tools and data collection tools, implement the mentioned tools and train the hospital's organisation so that it always lives up to the stringent quality demands.

Among other things, COWI uses the following analysis tools:

Medical technology assessment (MTA analyses)

MTA analyses are used in connection with the introduction of new diagnostic methods and treatment methods. The purpose is to create a solid foundation based on the most accurate scientific information prior to a possible investment.

Cost effectiveness and cost utility analyses

These analyses compare the financial costs of a specific form of treatment with the health effect and the effect on the patient's quality of life respectively.

Profit benchmarking

Profit benchmarking typically includes comparison of ratios and more complicated DEA models and econometrical analyses.

Process benchmarking

Process benchmarking includes mapping and analysis of how a process is planned and carried out. It also includes qualitative descriptions and comparisons.

The business excellence model

The business excellence model comprises all aspects of for instance a hospital and is well suited to obtain a cohesive picture of both the efficient elements and the elements which can be developed and improved with advantage.
