Economic development and trade

Trade and economic development enhance livelihoods and contribute to poverty reduction. COWI works to enable countries to build on the opportunities of a global economy.

Local economic development

In our approach to local economic development, we aim for an environment that enables local business and opens up new markets. Our services range from support for the development of legislation, access to credit, and planning and development of small scale market structures.

Private sector development

COWI provides consultancy services to public institutions at national and regional level, and directly to business organisations. Our services include consultancies for small- and medium-sized enterprises, business advocacy and capacity building, and financial services. We also specialise in building public-private partnerships for cost-effective basic services.

Trade

COWI provides consultancy services to enhance marketing opportunities for a range of sectors. We provide institution building of trade structures to ensure that quality control and certification structures meet national and international standards to enhance trade opportunity at local level.
