Trade

The Millennium Development Goals call for an open trade system in pursuit of good governance, and poverty reduction. COWI provides services that enhance private sector business and trade.
We focus on capacity building of private structures within the agricultural sector and other sectors, at national and regional levels. We offer support and advice to private organisations to enhance marketing opportunities and offer instition building to ensure that trade structures work closely with quality control and certification structures, in order to meet national and international standards.

Private sector business development

We support and provide consultancy services to enhance private sector business development. We offer support and advice for business planning for small and medium-scale economic enterprises in developing countries to strengthen their export potential. This includes providing advisory services in micro-credit and the development of agribusiness.

Export documentation

COWI has long experience in cash crop and market driven systems, and works with capacity building to ensure appropriate documentation for export licences. We establish systems for chains of custody and certification of agricultural and timber products, and advise on marketing cooperatives in communities and rural areas.
