Institutional building
COWI has been involved in projects concerning development of cadastre institutions in Latin America, Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Africa.
A modernised and well functioned cadastre institution is prerequisite for implementing of land reforms and land administation.
COWI offers technical assistance for development of national cadastre and land registration institutions.
Land informations systems (LIS)
Land information systems (LIS) are a prerequisite core for public infrastructure and efficient land resources management. Cadastre and registry information are a vital component in LIS. Therefore it is also essential to develop the related institutions to support the efficient and reliable operation of the LIS.
The services offered include:
International project management.
Design and implementation of a LIS tailored to the specific requirements of the country.
Institutional assessment in order to develop an appropriate organisation to support the LIS.
Establishment of appropriate procedures including data collection, data entry, and data updating procedures to ensure that the LIS data remains up-dated and valid in the long term.
Capacity development including organisation and management support, and training in data handling procedures as well as in use of the new LIS.
