Land informations systems (LIS)

Land information systems (LIS) are a prerequisite core for public infrastructure and efficient land resources management. Cadastre and registry information are a vital component in LIS. Therefore it is also essential to develop the related institutions to support the efficient and reliable operation of the LIS.

The services offered include:

• International project management. 
• Design and implementation of a LIS tailored to the specific requirements of the country. 
• Institutional assessment in order to develop an appropriate organisation to support the LIS. 
• Establishment of appropriate procedures including data collection, data entry, and data updating procedures to ensure that the LIS data remains up-dated and valid in the long term. 
• Capacity development including organisation and management support, and training in data handling procedures as well as in use of the new LIS.
