Land information systems
Most of COWIs cadastre projects include conversion from an existing paper based cadastre system to a new computerised Land Information System (LIS).
The LIS is most often developed as an integrated part of the project.
COWI takes great care to ensure that the LIS system developed meets the specific requirements of the particular national cadastre, and local conditions in general. To facilitate this, we use a system development process based on close cooperation with both decision makers and system users of the recipient cadastre organisation.
The LIS systems meet customers needs
COWI is developing a standard LIS software product including core cadastre data structure and functionality. This standard product will be customised to the specific requirements of the particular recipient institution.
Alternatively, COWI provides design and implementation of custom made LIS systems developed from scratch based on the most appropriate geographical information systems and database- and hardware technology.
In the development of LIS, we ensure to take advantage of the specialist knowledge of the recipient counterparts, our very experienced international cadastre/LIS specialists stationed on-location and our strong GIS-/IT development team in Denmark.
