COWI performs feasibility studies and general master planning of marine developments, including landside infrastructure and buildings. We work together with our clients to develop solutions that combine aesthetics, function and durability.
COWI uses MIKE21 numerical wave modelling software to develop marina layouts that minimize wave disturbance and maximize plot numbers. Berth utilities are tailored to customers’ profiles and may include facilities such as TV and internet connections.
We have extensive experience of environmental issues associated with regeneration of industrial areas, including contaminated land.
The marine environment is a strong selling point for many waterside developments. It is therefore essential to secure good water quality in marinas and canal systems within the development areas. COWI has in-house expertise of the numerical modelling of water circulation.
We design all structures typically associated with marine developments, including breakwaters, jetties, boardwalks, floating pontoons, quay walls, locks and swing bridges.
