Consumers and authorities continue to increase their demands to quality and efficiency in the treatment and distribution of water. Hence, water supply authorities must be abreast of technological as well as institutional and organisational development.
COWI is widely experienced in water supply planning. This includes all stages from national strategies and policies to regional master plans and detailed planning in smaller communities. Our expertise embraces all technical aspects involved in water supply systems from source to consumer. This, for instance, includes solutions to water quality problems, planning in relation to pipe systems and design of facilities for water intake, treatment and storage. COWI conducts measurements at waterworks and pipe systems applying computer modelling whenever appropriate.
COWI's services within design cover all aspects of the water supply system from water intake through waterworks and reservoirs to pipe systems and pumping stations. Further, we have an in-depth knowledge of advanced control and automation systems for the entire water supply system.
One of COWI's key strengths lay in the ability to regard water supply in a large perspective. We involve in-house specialists in other fields enabling us to solve multidisciplinary projects containing aspects within institutional and organisational development, socio-economy, health, safety, financial and economic assessments and the environmental issues.
