Henriette Hallberg Thygesen elected to the Board of COWI

The CEO of Svitzer A/S (part of the Maersk Group), Henriette Hallberg Thygesen, has joined the Board of the international consulting group COWI. Thygesen brings a deep understanding of COWI’s core markets combined with great skills in business development and customer relationships.

COWI’s Chairman, Steen Risgaard, is delighted to welcome Henriette Hallberg Thygesen to the Board:

Strong customer relationships are vital

Henriette Hallberg Thygesen worked abroad for many years, but returned to Denmark in 2016, succeeding Robert Mærsk Uggla as CEO of the shipping firm Svitzer A/S on 1 September. This global business is part of the Maersk Group and specialises in marine services. In her new position on the Board of COWI, Henriette looks forward to supporting the group’s continued growth and business development:

“COWI is an exciting company with great ambitions. Although I come from a different industry, there are many similarities in our ways of doing business. Relationships with customers are all-important, and the strategic work of strengthening this part of the business is something I have practised through many years in my various roles in the Maersk Group, both in Denmark and abroad.”

In the forefront of knowledge

With a string of business-related MBAs and a PhD in Applied Mathematics behind her, Henriette Hallberg Thygesen also has a great professional and personal interest in contributing to

COWI’s continued development:

“The research areas attract me a lot. In a knowledge business like COWI, which aims to attract the best brains from around the globe in order to be among the best in the world within its core competences, it is also essential to be in the forefront of the latest knowledge and innovation. I am really looking forward to getting to know COWI better from the inside and helping to support the links between research and practice – and of course business.”

Henriette Hallberg Thygesen replaces Hans Ole Voigt on the Board of COWI. He is stepping down after six years in office, in accordance with COWI’s internal rules.
