ARE YOU SPECIALISED IN POWER SYSTEM STUDIES AND HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEM DESIGN?

As our new Power System Specialist, you will be welcomed by more than 20 hardworking, enthusiastic and friendly electrical engineers. All of us are specialised in different areas, such as high voltage switchgear, medium voltage, low voltage offshore installations, SCADA systems and radio systems. Our diverse expertise enables us multidisciplinary collaboration in large-scale offshore wind farm projects, infrastructure projects and utility systems. We are a very social, friendly and well-functioning team, which is clearly reflected in our high scores on employee engagement surveys.

To succeed as a Power System Specialist, you thrive in organising and leading the development of our team members in power system studies. You have a high degree of initiative and bring a structured and dedicated approach to your work. You are flexible and open-minded, possess a good sense of humour and enjoy the social work environment. Excellent English language proficiency is a must, and you are effective in composing complex technical documentation.

We imagine our new Power System Specialist has a minimum of 8 years' experience in a similar role, and preferably holds a M.Sc. within Electrical Engineering. Furthermore, you have strong experience in DIgSILENT PowerFactory as being our primary tool. Experience in PSCAD and PSS/E is further an advantage.

You have in-depth experience with the topics listed below:

  • Basic system design, e.g. single line diagrams with main electrical components such as wind turbines, offshore/onshore cables, transformers, switchgear, shunt reactors, SVC/STATCOMS etc.
  • Modelling for steady state analysis such as load flow and short circuits
  • Strategy and controllers for regulation of voltage and reactive power
  • Calculation of PQ and UQ capability charts
  • Neutral earthing schemes
  • Dynamic time domain simulations (RMS) involving both generic type models as well as manufacturer specific generator/converter models for e.g. wind turbines
  • Harmonic analysis using frequency scan methods and harmonic load flow
  • Grid code compliance assessment using steady state analysis and dynamic time domain simulations (RMS) for e.g. Fault Ride Through capability
  • Transient time domain simulations (EMT) in relation to e.g. energization, switching and faults, control stability and general insulation coordination
