If so, this is your opportunity to turn your aspirations into actions.

Our COWI strategy, FUTURE-NOW, presents how we will increase our growth based on sustainability and digitization within the segments of energy, buildings, infrastructure as well as water and climate adaptation. In our Transportation division, we are dedicated to developing sustainable infrastructure and transport solutions, and we strive to provide new materials, designs, and digital solutions as we work towards a better tomorrow.

Leadership role combined with technical expertise and/or project management
We are seeking a Head of Section to join forces with the current Head of Section in leading the "Civil Structures and Bridges" section.

Currently, we have approximately 40 colleagues working closely with our clients on some of Denmark's most significant transportation projects. Our work encompasses the design of new bridges and tunnels, harbor structures, and various civil structures in Northern Jutland. This section is part of the Transportation DK, North department, which comprises 100 employees.

Your time will be divided between leading your team of experts, with approximately half of the section’s employees referring directly to you, collaborating closely with your Head of Section partner in leading and developing the section, and contributing to your own projects. Additionally, you will be a member of the department's leadership team, which includes fellow Heads of Sections, project and market directors, and the Vice President. Together, you will set the strategic direction and work on the department action plan.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring employee engagement, well-being, and a positive working environment
  • Developing employees through support, coaching, and feedback
  • Day-to-day resource coordination
  • Reviewing and driving performance
  • Recruitment and fostering a diverse team
  • Onboarding new employees
  • Collaborating closely with your Head of Section partner
  • Coordinating with other Head of Sections, market and project directors, and Vice President
  • Delivering technical expertise and/or project management

Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future
Like us, you believe that leadership success comes from setting a clear and meaningful direction for your team and supporting them in taking ownership of their work. You always delegate responsibility and ensure an open and safe dialogue, and you coach your employees to achieve their development aspirations through constructive, fact-based feedback. Attracting and nurturing a diverse group of high-potential team members is at the top of your agenda, as is creating an inclusive, caring and trusting culture in your team.

On top of that, we expect that you have:

  • A great desire to lead people with a positive mind focusing on the employees’ individual needs and wishes and the goal of the group
  • Strong professional knowledge and network
  • Good written and spoken communication skills
