Supporting an internationally scaled energy transition? Challenge accepted!

The Norwegian energy major Equinor is planning to build a 12-16 GW renewables portfolio by 2030. The decision should inspire other companies to follow and is a game-changer for the energy industry.

We are a partner in this transition, focusing on support with offshore wind projects and low-carbon solutions. We are excited to work on projects that showcase innovation and solutions that accelerate the energy transition – and we hope you are too!

THE PROJECT IN A NUTSHELL

  • Equinor is planning to build a 12-16 GW renewables portfolio by 2030.
  • COWI was awarded a multi-year service agreement by Equinor in 2022.
  • The contract runs for five years with options to extend it up to 11 years in total.
  • Under the agreement, COWI will focus on offshore wind and low-carbon solutions.

FIRST STEP: PROJECT FIREFLY

The first contract under the master service agreement (MSA) is the Firefly project in South Korea. The project is an 800 MW floating wind farm located offshore Ulsan. The wind farm comprises two 75 km2 areas, 70 km off the coast.
