Ukraine: Building back better and greener

Ukraine and its many international partners are committed to a program of recovery of Ukraine, which will become the largest reconstruction project since the World War II. COWI will contribute to this program knowing that the task is challenging and ultimately about building back better – and greener.

The Government of Ukraine has put forward objectives, guiding principles and implementation approach for the program of recovery of Ukraine. Ukraine has done so in their National Recovery Plan, which was presented in a blueprint in July 2022. We may contribute to the achievement of established objectives.

Together with customers, partners and colleagues, we shape a future where people and societies grow and flourish. We do that by co-creating sustainable and beautiful solutions that improve the quality of life for people today and many generations ahead.

Our starting point is gaining a deep understanding of our customers, their aspirations and concerns. This is what sets us apart and how we deliver long-term value.

Primarily located in Scandinavia, the UK, North America and India, we are currently 7,500 people, who offer our expertise in engineering, architecture, energy and environment.

We have been working in Ukraine since 1991. Today, we have ongoing projects in the country financed by Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Danish Sustainable Infrastructure Finance, EIB and KfW. We have an extensive network in Ukraine totaling more than 300 experts.

COWI management have formulated a very clear approach to the company’s activities in Ukraine:
