40,000 m² of housing to form the heart of a new district

Aarhus welcomes around 4,000 new residents each year. Havneholmen is a key element in the creation of a new district by the port, surrounded by water and in close contact with recreational areas and the city marina.

The housing area, with a total of 397 apartments, extends out to Aarhus Bay and consists of five slender buildings between five and 13 storeys that have characteristic steel girders at the top referencing classical canal-side houses with outside hoists. The steel girders are used in the design to support the balconies.

COWI acted together with C.F. Møller as consultant to NCC, which was the turnkey contractor for the 40,000 m2 construction project and is contributing to continued urban development in Aarhus.
