one of the world's most energy-efficient museums

Moesgaard Museum has a new museum building of international standard, both in terms of attractions and architecture.

The new exhibition building interacts with the historical building Moesgaard Manor – the previous home of Moesgaard Museum - and the hilly landscape in which it is integrated.

Energy-efficiency and sustainability were incorporated in the project from the beginning without compromising the aesthetics. By reducing the energy consumption, it is now one of the world's most energy-efficient museums.

COWI acted as consulting engineer for the project and designed the museum's unique lighting that accentuates the beautiful architecture and secures clear escape routes.
