A 'health care house' of the future

The Østfold Hospital is a 'health care house' of the future where design and layout supports patient recovery and wellbeing.

The 85,000 m² hospital contains highly complex technical facilities and installations, and has been designed to ensure optimal logistics and flexibility.

Logistics analysis outlined potential bottlenecks in the original design proposals and a new structure was designed to allow a smoother flow of goods and more appropriate sizing of logistical and technical areas.

In 2014, the project was awarded the prize for the best open BIM project by buildingSmart International and has served as a best practice case to many other hospital projects.
