High flexibility between heat and power production

The CHP is a state-of-the-art 110 MW thermal biomass heat and power plant. It features fuel flexibility, high efficiency and advanced flue gas cleaning, as well as flexibility between heat and power production.

The plant is designed for 100% straw but can co-incinerate up to approx. 50% of the heat input as wood chips.

The plant has a very advanced flue gas cleaning system with a heat recovery system consisting of flue gas condensation and moisturising of combustion air.

The flue gas cleaning system contains a baghouse filter with lime injection and a tail-end DeNOx SCR system.

COWI conducted owners engineer services for the new plant in Aarhus.
