Impact analysis tool for choosing modes of operation

Biomass and waste to energy Solutions

As part of optimising the energy producer Verdo’s plant and to achieve a reduction in emissions of CO2 and NOX, COWI is developing a tool for impact assessments of different modes of operation.

The tool is based on Thermoflex models of boiler and turbine systems.

The overall Thermoflex model for Randers CHP plant will be used to analyse a number of different combinations of operational situations. The results of the calculation have been tranferred to a spreadsheet model that can be used by Verdo.

The tool shows how the plant should run under ideal conditions. The system is designed to allow Verdo to extend it as required with PQ diagrams and to link the model to online process monitoring.
