The East Link is the first step towards a future high-speed railway for Stockholm–Gothenburg and Stockholm–Malmö and represents a new generation within railways. With a new double-track railway between Järna and Linköping, journeys in the region will become more convenient, safe and sustainable.
COWI is planning the stretch through Nyköpings municipality and between the cities Sillekrog and Stavsjö. The first train will become operational in 2033/2035.
