Trees, greenery and water in harmony in picturesque public water park in Hyllie

Located next to Hyllie Station in southern Malmö, Sweden, Hyllie water park opened in May 2015 and incorporates several in-situ cast structures with integrated water and lighting installations. The water park is designed to promote activity, and its structures aim to blend into trees and greenery. In addition to meeting safety and security requirements relevant to public spaces, it boasts high accessibility and offers play facilities to encourage children to explore. 

COWI was responsible for design and for coordinating the thematic water park to achieve a high aesthetic standard. Tasks included final landscaping; design of earthworks, stormwater and drainage facilities; design of streets, steel and concrete walls, as well as various types of water installations. 

The water park constitutes an important element in a growing city, as well as an attraction and sight for all of Malmö to visit.
