a wider highway easing congestion

The M14 Elsinore Highway is a heavily congested commuter route. The transportation authorities decided to widen the busiest section of the highway from four to six lanes in order to mitigate the worst of the congestion.

The highway needed to be open to traffic throughout the project. COWI’s vast technical knowledge and strong understanding of local conditions helped minimise congestion during construction so that the project was completed on time and within budget.

The new, wider highway has eased congestion and improved traffic flow for over 50,000 commuters.
