Since the 1990s, COWI has been a key player in supporting Benin’s water sector programme, and in 2017 we were entrusted to lead the technical assistance of the OmiDelta programme.

A key focus is on sustainable urbanisation in the deltas and in line with UN Sustainable Development Goal number 6, its objective is to ensure the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all by 2030.

Over a four-year period, the OmiDelta programme will invest 8 million euros in technical assistance to reduce poverty and improve socio-economic development linked to governance, health improvement, life expectancy, student learning, gender equality, etc.
