Do you want to contribute to shaping sustainable communities of the future? Can you combine your expertise in land negotiation and property law with an understanding of urban development? And are you motivated by working in multidisciplinary teams and engaging with different stakeholders? Then, this could be your next opportunity at COWI!

Create solutions that will enable a better tomorrow
At COWI, we work on projects that shape sustainable cities, improve mobility and support infrastructure, energy and the green transition. To strengthen our expertise in land negotiation and property law, we are looking for a Land Negotiator Specialist with urban planning competence to join one of our urban planning teams in Malmö or Gothenburg.
In this role, you will combine your specialist knowledge of land negotiation and property law with a broader involvement in the urban development process. You will work with investigations, coordination, stakeholder dialogue and planning-related activities, contributing to multidisciplinary projects from early planning stages through to implementation. You will also have the opportunity to share knowledge and collaborate with experienced colleagues across different disciplines, while continuing to develop your expertise.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Manage land negotiation and property law matters in urban development and infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare documentation for dialogue with property owners, authorities and other stakeholders, and participate in dialogue and negotiation processes.
  • Prepare and quality-assure documentation, property records, reports and planning documents.
  • Conduct investigations and analyses related to urban development.
  • Coordinate matters across different technical disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Support planning and permitting processes.

Your skills. Our team. Together, we design the future.
To succeed in this role, you enjoy working with people from different backgrounds and building relationships based on trust and mutual respect. You can adapt your communication to different audiences, navigate competing interests and perspectives, and approach stakeholder dialogue in a professional and attentive manner. You take initiative, work independently and drive matters forward, while recognising the importance of collaboration and shared team goals. With your analytical mindset, you are comfortable addressing complex challenges and developing solutions that help move projects forward.

On top of that, you will have:

  • A relevant university degree in Land Surveying (Lantmäteri), Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Real Estate Management, Law or a related field.
  • At least two years of relevant professional experience in land acquisition, property law, urban development or related areas.
  • Excellent communication skills in Swedish, both written and spoken.

It is considered an advantage if you also have experience in:

  • Land acquisition and land negotiations.
  • Property law matters in urban development and infrastructure projects.
  • Valuation and compensation matters.
  • Railway plans, road plans or other statutory planning processes.
  • Coordination or project management responsibilities.
  • Preparing investigations, reports or planning documentation.
