COWI simplifies its management structure and expands its group management

29.01.2024

COWI expands its group management and takes out a top management layer to strengthen its strategy execution.

COWI's ambition is to continue the company's significant growth while consolidating its position in the market in the coming years. Therefore, COWI is strengthening its group management, securing more forces to execute COWI's strategy, which revolves around green transition.

”In recent years, COWI has delivered around ten per cent organic growth and holds a strong position, despite volatile market conditions. The world is changing fast, both for our customers and us. We want to provide as valuable assistance as possible to our customers and partners as they transition into a more sustainable world, where technological development, green energy and more sustainable materials become ever more crucial. To that end, we need a simple management structure and an even stronger group management," explains Jens Højgaard Christoffersen, Group CEO.

He elaborates: ”Going forward, the executive vice presidents of our four geographical business lines as well as the heads of People and Culture and our engineering and design centres will join the group management. This will allow us to more swiftly and effectively pick up on signals and make decisions.”

As a consequence, we have also decided to discontinue the role of chief operating officer (COO). By mutual agreement and following handover, the current COO, Rasmus Ødum, will leave COWI after 15 years on the Executive Board.

”It's not easy to say goodbye to Rasmus, who has been an immensely dedicated and highly talented colleague for many years. He has been an initiator of many key initiatives that have equipped us to take on challenging projects. I would like to thank Rasmus for his many invaluable contributions to COWI over the years," concludes Jens Højgaard Christoffersen.
