Appointments announced to the network rail design services framework

PRESS RELEASE: COWI working with Pell Frischmann to deliver a safe and reliable railway.

17.02.2020

Every day, more than 4.8 million rail journeys are made in the UK and over 600 freight trains run on a network comprising 20,000 miles of track, 30,000 bridges, tunnels and viaducts as well as the thousands of stations, signals and level crossings.

We're delighted that Network Rail has appointed Pell Frischmann, with COWI and Sweco to the Civil and Structures lots for Southeast and Northeast regions as part of the Design Services Framework (DSF) to help deliver a safe and reliable railway.

This billion-pound framework will run between 2019 – 2029 within Control Periods 6 and 7, and we are delighted to be part of a framework that aims to provide access to a wider range of multi-skilled suppliers, who will continue to grow and expand the nation's railway network to respond to the tremendous growth and demand the railway has experienced over the past 20 years.

This is a huge opportunity to ensure maximum efficiencies and continuity for Network Rail's 'Putting Passengers First' initiative
Damian McGirr Director

“I’m delighted that COWI has secured a place on the DSF Framework for Network Rail, working alongside Pell Frischmann and SWECO” says Damian McGirr, Director at COWI.

“The DSF is an excellent opportunity for us and our partner companies to deliver the safest projects with best value and highest quality and in the technical areas in which we excel. This reinforces COWI’s continuing role in design delivery for Network Rail and their supply chain partners across CP6, allowing us to enhance our offering across all GRIP stages in the delivery of projects. This is a huge opportunity to ensure maximum efficiencies and continuity for Network Rail’s ‘Putting Passengers First’ initiative.”
