The offfshore wind farm is located in the Belgian part of the North Sea sector.
The planned capacity is 420 MW and a yearly production of 1360 GWh. COWI carried out the tender design for monopiles and secondary steelworks for three different WTG suppliers.
The design comprised a monopile without a transition piece, driven directly on the interface fl ange to the turbine.
The structural design comprised a comparison and evaluation of two different types of cathodic protections, a sacrifi cial anodes cathodic protection (SACP) contra an impressed current protection system (ICCP).The type of cathodic protection has infl uence on the design of the steel cages.
The secondary steelworks will be installed after installation of the monopile. Secondary steelworks comprise steel cage(s) with J-tubes, anodes and boat landing, internal work/access platforms, and external work/access platform.
