Webinar: How can data centres support both digital growth and the green transition?

Denmark is caught in a crossfire between the green transition and digital growth. New sustainable solutions for future data centres may show a way out.

Just before Brussels went on summer break, the European Commission presented an ambitious plan to double Europe's electrification rate by 2040, bringing it to 46%. A shift to ‘clean electrification’ reduces both the climate burden and dependence on imported fossil fuels.

Today, Denmark's electrification rate stands at 21.6%, placing the country 17th in Europe and below the EU average.
At the same time, we have witnessed a digital turning point over the past few years. The growing use of artificial intelligence and rapidly evolving language models is changing everyday life for many people. Much suggests that this is where the growth and prosperity of the future will be created.
Data centres' industrial-scale power consumption is thus a pivotal point for a society in transition. They are driving the shift toward greater industrial power consumption while being the heart of an accelerating digitalisation.

But the path toward the green transition, strategic independence and future prosperity is challenged by a heavily strained power infrastructure. Keeping the transition on track will require new solutions that are both intelligent and sustainable energy-wise.

Register now and join us on 18 August at 8:30–9:15 CEST as we gather leading experts to discuss how smarter and more sustainable data centres can fuel both the green transition and digital growth.

You will meet:

•    Jakob Juhl Jensen – Director, Global Data Center Development, Danfoss
•    Andreas Karhula Lauridsen – Senior Vice President, European Energy
•    Chris Larsen – Chief Technology Officer, atNorth
•    Rasmus Brandt – Market Director, Data Centres – Nordics, COWI.

The webinar will be moderated by Jakob Dybdal Christensen, Market Director, Renewable Energy at COWI.
