Join COWI for our next Morning Fuels webinar at 08:30-09:15 Friday the 13th of December, where we have invited top experts from European Energy and Uniper who together with the German Ambassador to Denmark will discuss Germany’s role in the European green transition and how Denmark can leverage this partnership to drive innovation and green growth.

Germany has shown to be the key driver for the Danish green hydrogen infrastructure. From that follows a number of critical topics. How committed are our southern neighbors really? How will a likely upcoming German election affect priorities? And what do key producers and off-takers deem as main challenges?

Germany has established itself as a key player in the hydrogen market, with ambitious plans to support domestic and European decarbonization goals. The German government recently approved a 9,040 km hydrogen pipeline network (“Kernnetz”), expected to be operational in phases starting already in 2025, with a total investment of €18.9 billion. The network will connect production sites, industrial users, and export hubs, reinforcing Germany’s position as a hydrogen leader.

The country’s National Hydrogen Strategy emphasizes the role of green hydrogen in decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors like steel, chemicals, and transport, while also supporting international partnerships to meet future hydrogen demand.

For Denmark, this open doors to not only support Germany’s green ambitions but also position itself as a key supplier of hydrogen and other green solutions.

Featured Speakers:

•    Prof. Dr. Pascal Hector, Germanys Ambassador to Denmark.
•    Catherine Smitt Meyer, Innovation Manager, Uniper
•    Lotte Lindeloff, Director, PtX Project Development, European Energy
•    Jens Ole Madsen, Market Director, COWI A/S

Key discussion points:
